NOTES FOR THE GUIDANCE OF CANDIDATES

LIMITS

A Marine Radio Operators' Certificate of Proficiency is a prerequisite for all commercial qualifications. It is also required for all who use marine VHF and MF/HF radios and is strongly recommended for others pursuing recreational maritime training.

There are no prerequisites for this module.

SCOPE

TDM ME5 07B Marine Radio Operators' Certificate of Proficiency

This course aims to provide the knowledge and skills for candidates to achieve the MROCP issued by the Australian Communications Authority. It also seeks to develop confidence and general competence in marine radio usage.

COURSE STRUCTURE

This course is usually conducted over three weekday evenings (1830 to 2200) followed by an examination on Saturday afternoon.

ASSESSMENT

Candidates will sit for the relevant examination conducted for the Australian Communications Authority at AMTC.
