• Coxswain Restricted

For candidates seeking tickets in the trading and fishing sectors, Certificates and Statements of Attainment in these courses are recognised by Maritime Authorities.

The "Notes for the Guidance of Candidates" provided on this site are based on those available from Maritime Safety Queensland and relate to the final requirements for gaining a "Certificate of Competency" to operate a commercial vessel in this State.Candidates from other States should consult their own Maritime Authority for any other requirements, particularly in relation to Restricted tickets.

The Course Units provided by AMTC should be commenced well before full seatime and the other final requirements of Maritime Authorities are achieved. This enables the knowledge,skills and attitudes gained to be reinforced through good application in the workplace prior to final examination.
